We know that our readers are well-travelled hotel connoisseurs, and we are often asked (by them) about new hotels and which properties we love the most. It’s not an easy task to curate a list of hotels we love, simply because everyone has a different taste and preference. That said, the hotels who made this list got there on merit that befits the standards we expect and for the incredible service they provide. Add in experience, dining and location – you have yourself a hotel to add to your favourites list!
These are ours. Enjoy.

The hippest hotel in Cape Town in our opinion is Silo. A truly magical hotel that glides above the V&A Waterfront surrounded by the natural wonder of South Africa’s Mother City. The stunning property is cleverly built into the Museum of Contemporary Art Africa (MOCAA). Zeitz MOCAA houses Africa’s largest collection of contemporary African art.
The Silo has 28 ultra modern rooms, each with eccentric interiors and exquisite views of the waterfront. The restaurant of the hotel overlooks the Table Mountain and is considered to be a part of the Royal Portfolio hotel collection along with its spa, rooftop pool, and lounge.

Located in arguably the best part of the Huangpu River, Shanghai AKA The Bund – this W property stands tall among the Shanghai skyline. The hotel has been described as being “neon, bold, ambitious, and loud” – and we couldn’t agree more.
The 374 rooms and 35 suites are a blend of both traditional and W’s aesthetic décor. The lounge, W’s signature spa, and a sprawling outdoor pool are the main highlights of this extremely popular hotel.
